This bookcase was designed to separate a busy family kitchen from the adjacent tv room and bar area.

As part of the manufacturing process, we had to build a mock-up of the wall onto which the cabinet was to be fitted. We then built the whole cabinet around this wall in our workshops before taking it all apart for painting.

It was a fun but a testing project for the workshop and site teams and it fitted perfectly together on site. The dummy books we used on the bar side were amazing quality castings from original hardback classics.

The paperbacks on the kitchen side were real books that were especially reduced in depth to give the appearance of being full depth.

Once fitted all of the cabinetry was hand-painted to match the décor of the adjacent rooms.
